My background is essentially in education. I spent more than ten years in the museum profession, most of that time as a director of military museums with extensive arms collections. When I ran the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor I was responsible for Gen. George S. Patton’s personal firearms collection and gave countless tours and lectures on the subject for groups from all walks of life. Whether it was the family of an 18 year old recruit or Gaston Glock, I had no trouble connecting with my audience and engaging them with the story and the artifacts. The front man of any institution needs to have the communication skills and confidence to represent that institution to a broad sector of the public. I’ve been the front man for two museums (Fort Hamilton’s Harbor Defense Museum in Brooklyn, NY and The Patton Museum in Fort Knox, KY) and my own business (VOCO, LLC).
A lifetime of study and experience (BA in American History and MA in Military History, NRA Life member since 1987) makes me very comfortable and authoritative on the subject of firearms. I’ve appeared on a dozen different television programs discussing and demonstrating weapons and worked with both Lee Ermy and Oliver North.
Currently, writing for American Shooting Journal (ASJ), Guns of the Old West, American Frontiersman, Survivors Edge, Gun World, American Handgunner, Guns Magazine and others.
